The annual Easter Egg Roll is a White House tradition that dates back to 1878. This year it will be held at the White House on Monday April 9, 2012. The event is open to kids age 12 and younger, and the free tickets are distributed through an online lottery. Click here for all the details.
I took my nine year old twins to this event last Spring. It was a hot day, and there were LOTS of people there. But, it was very well run. There were volunteers everywhere handing out bottled water. There was a concert and different activity stations, and plenty of photo-ops with the White House as your backdrop. My kids’ favorite activity was playing basketball on the White House tennis courts.
